چکیده
Abstract Forty Holstein bull calves were fed 1 of 3 starch-based milk replacers for either 10 or 35 days to determine responses in organ mass and small intestinal length. Calves (87.2 ± 7.7 kg) bottle-fed a cornstarch-based replacer (727 g cornstarch daily) alone, with added casein (154.7 g/d) glutamate (45.5 d. Prior receiving treatments commercial 12 15 weeks so that measures length collected at the same day age. Measures achieved after euthanized digesta was removed. Duodenum defined as first 1-m caudal pyloric sphincter. Jejunum ileum cranial halves remaining intestines. Data analyzed using MIXED procedure SAS. Average daily gain 68% greater (P = 0.02) compared control, but did not differ from control. Mass omasum, abomasum, jejunum, ileum, heart, kidney jejunum affected by treatment ≥ 0.18); however, additions increased ≤ 0.05) rumen, duodenum, large intestine, liver, spleen. Greater duration spleen 0.05), there interaction 0.18). Interestingly, an < 0.01) jejunal ileal response duration. Length each segment lengths decreased control amounts time.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of extruded flaxseed and conjugated linoleic acid on growth performance, blood parameters in Holstein suckling calves. This experiment was carried out with 30 newborn Holstein calves with an average age of 1-8 days, and about 36±2 kg body weight, with 6 treatments and 5 replications in a completely randomized factorial design (3×2). The treat...
متن کاملThe Effect of Modified Starch Based Fat Replacer on Milk Properties
In this study, modified starch was used as a fat replacer in the milk. The fat replacer was manufactured from modified starch such as pre-gelatinized and cross–linked starches. Modified starches were manufactured by hydrochloric acid and citric acid treatments from potato and wheat and were added to skim milk at concentrations of 0.15%, 0.30% and 0.45%. Viscosity, total solid, fat content, titr...

Starch (SS) and fermented fiber (FFS), as energy sources were included in Holstein bull calf diets to evaluate their growth performance, rumen fermentation pattern and concentration of insulin and selected blood metabolites. Fourteen Holstein bull calves (BW=94.5±2.1 kg; age 87±9 d) were allocated to treatments (n=7 calves per treatment) and the study lasted 10 weeks. The diets were based on ba...
